At 5:00 am we will pick you up from your hotel and we will go from Cusco in our private van that takes us to the town of San Pedro de Cachora (2800m). There you have much time to try a breakfast (not included in the package, though the price is quite reasonable). We will meet with the rest of our team (cooks and wranglers) and we will begin our long walk of the day, it will take us between 7 and 8 hours in this mountainous region. On the way we will observe a variety of landscapes typical of the different climates of the area with views like the snow-capped mountain of Pedroyoc or even the diversity of the flora and fauna that enhance our experience.
You finally arrive at the viewpoint of Capulichayoc from where we can admire the deepest canyon in the world, the Apurimac river, with the Apurimac river at the bottom. Here we have our first lunch and our first views of Choquequirao. Once rested, we continued descending until Chiquisca (1800m) where we set up tents and spend the night surrounded by wonderful landscapes.

After a good breakfast, we begin a grueling trek for 5 hours until our lunch in Marcapata. Here we will have a guided visit to Choquequirao (the "Crib Golden"), considered the Sister City of Machu Picchu by the many similarities they share. Choquequirao is at 1500 meters above the canyon of the Apurimac river, while Machu Picchu is on the the Urubamba canyon, have the same latitude, and both are great citadels of more than 8 hectares, and until now has only been discovered a third.
Archaeologists are making new discoveries every day. We will explore the three levels of the excavated ruins, appreciating the various houses, terraces, and other elements of the inca people of late. We will camp at the side of Marcapata.

We can see the sunrise over the ruins at dawn, and after a good breakfast, we started down using the same path on which we arrived, until we reach our camp in Chiquisca.

An early start today will help us avoid the worst of the heat in the canyon, and we will ensure magnificent views of the Apurimac river and the surrounding peaks. In our journey, we arrived at the viewpoint of Capuliyoc for the last time, where we say goodbye to the fabulous views of the ruins of Choquequirao.
We will also see the majestic snowy peak of Padreyoc with views of the Canyon of Apurimac while we are surrounded by the flora and forna special of this area. Then we will drive to our final destination of San Pedro de Cachora to return to Cusco in bus.
