TOUR A LAS CHULLPAS DE SILLUSTANI EN PUNO (Templo de la Fertilidad)

We will pass you to search the hotel in a vehicle to get out of the city of Puno to the northwest, toward the Chullpas of Sillustani. These towers from the time of the inca and pre-inca, have several shapes and heights, some reaching 12 m. Are funerary towers in which the men they buried their leaders. Las chullpas son torreones circulares de piedra levantados para albergar los restos funerarios de las principales autoridades de los antiguos pobladores del Collao (altiplano). Algunas alcanzan hasta 12 metros de alto y se caracterizan porque su base es de menor diámetro que la parte superior.

¿Qué significa Sillustani?

El nombre Sillustani proviene de las palabras sillus (uña) y llustani (resbaladero). La traducción literal sería entonces resbaladero de uñas, quizás haciendo referencia a que la unión entre los bloques externos de las chullpas no permite ni el pasaje de una uña.
