4:30.m. We will pick you up from your hotel and drive to Mollepata in a tourist bus. Where you can get ready with last minute supplies or anything that you have forgotten in the city (water, rain poncho, insect repellent, etc). Once the riders have taken the big packages and we have purchased all the supplies at the last minute, it is time to begin the journey.
The greater part of the journey in this first day is just walking down the road that leads up to Soraypampa. The views are breathtaking and the trail once in a while takes a shortcut steep through the grass of a cow, the scent of eucalyptus will invade the exit of Mollepata and you dive deeper and deeper in the open valleys that dominate this section of the Andes, and it feels amazing to breathe in the thin air of the mountain and slowly slid back in the middle of nowhere.
Soraypampa es un lugar muy surrealista, ya que hay un salkantay lodge, tambien pocas familias, y solo 4 o 5 familias que alquilan campings. Desde este punto podremos ver la montaña Salkantay and around 4:30pm we will be in Soraypampa, which is 3,500 mts (20,671 pies). Es nuestro primer campamento es el más alto y más frío del viaje a 4,000 meters (12,750 feet), we can enjoy the beautiful scenery.
We will have a hot breakfast around 5:30am and we begin our trek towards the highest pass on this trek (4,650 mts / 15,200 ft) located between two huge mountains: Salkantay to the right and Humantay to the left ( Salkantay trek to 6,271 mts / 20,575 ft and Humantay to 4,120 mts / 13,500 ft). From the pass, the views of both snow-capped mountains are amazing. There will also be a possibility of snow here. At this point we will have a small ceremony.
This ceremony is known as Payment to the Earth or Pachamama ( Jaywarikuy ), in which we leave some coca leaves in the rocks to Mother Earth to ask for permission to continue and have an amazing trip and a memorable one.
We will continue our walk downhill through a beautiful cloud forest and arrive at Huayracpunku, where we have lunch.
We walked again after lunch in the direction of the jungle until we reach our second campsite, Colcapampa (3,000 mts / 9,800 ft). Another possible place to camp would be in Challway . Following the course of the Salkantay river, at this point we will have the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful andean landscape in the same place where we camped (2,900 mts approx.).
After our breakfast at 6:30a.m., we will pass by several valleys, crossing the river Lluskamayo and a variety of small creeks, appreciating some wonderful views of waterfalls, tropical fruits, colorful birds, and various native plants. The road is less demanding with a climate is generally warm. Almuerzaremos on the road, and as we journey, we will enjoy more of the valley around us. Eventually we arrive at Santa Teresa, which is our next camp.
After a rest and refreshments to help us recover our strength, we have the option of visiting the hot springs local and test the water well deserved and relaxing, A real treat after walking all day!.
After breakfast, we continue our journey to walk another 3 hours to get to Hidroelectrica. The trail ends at the old coffee plantation Mandorpampa and enter into the cloud forest, following the sacred river for about an hour and a half until we see the waterfalls of the Hidroelectrica. These falls are about twelve feet high and are fed by the crystal clear waters of the melting of the sacred mount Yanantin.
From the falls, the trail continues up the ridge, before being lost in the vegetation becoming more dense. This is a beautiful landscape and fertile, with plantations of coffee, banana and avocado, which abound in the forest, and wilderness areas, which are the natural habitat of mammals such as the spectacled bear, and hundreds of species of birds and butterflies, some of them endemic to the region. The forest is covered with bromeliads and many varieties of orchids, some of which have been recently identified by biologists.
Finally we arrive to the village of Machu Picchu (Aguas Calientes) to spend the night in our comfortable hotel.
Optional: you can make a visit early to the Hot Springs of Aguas Calientes where the entrance fee is $ 4.
We will have breakfast and then take the bus very early to "The Lost City of the Incas" Machu Picchu. A walking tour of approximately 2 hours is given by your guide and after this you can explore the mysterious city in their free time for their own account. At 10 a.m. there will be time to climb Huayna Picchu (2,720 mts / 8,890 ft). Takes about 45 minutes to get to the top.
Then take the Expedition train of the afternoon back to Ollantaytambo and a bus to Cusco. We will be in Cusco at approximately 22:30 p. m.
Optional : Holy Mountain Huayna Picchu. Has a limitation of 400 spaces by day, so we recommend that you book in advance. If you still have some energy, you can also climb the Sacred Mountain Huayna Picchu (2720m / 8923ft). It takes 45 minutes to get to the top, the entrance has an additional cost of $ 75.00 and you may have to skip the tour of Machu Picchu to climb this mountain.

Before you travel
To confirm the booking we require a 50% payment upfront and the other 50% may be paid to the arrival of your destination.
We have 3 options for you to make the deposit.
